-Linear & Non-Linear:
.Linear means that there is a set story. No mixed up parts. Everything happens at the right time.
EG. Iron man, Drive
.Non-Linear means that there isn't a set story. So it doesn't go from A-B it goes in a random order so the story can change. Something might be happening and then it changes all of a sudden.
Eg. Pulp Fiction, Momento
- Flashback:
.Flashback means that the story progresses and then at one point in the film he flashes back to a scene where something important has happened and then it changes the story so he can do something he was unable to do. It can also mean that they could, for example, be telling a story to someone and the whole film could be a flashback.
EG. Titanic, The Social Network
- Realist:
.Realist means that is supposed to be in real life settings and surroundings. And we can relate to it.
EG. Shawshank Redemption, Schindlers list
-Anti-Realist:
.Anti-realist means things what are not supposed to be real. It is supposed be set in a fantasy world.
EG. Lord Of The Rings, Avengers Assemble
-Endings (Open & Closed):
.Open endings mean an ending that can continue on to a sequel or maybe an ending were something happens but it doesn't show you what happens after that.
.Closed Ending means that maybe someone will die and that is the end or they get revenge at the final part of the film which closes it of.
EG. Harry Potter, Titanic
